Headaches - Causes and Risks
Headaches have a wide variety of causes.
Migraine headaches of all types like classical migraines, ophthalmoplegic migraines, cluster headaches, and headaches associated with hangovers from excessive alcohol intake, or exposure to other drugs and toxins.
Tension headaches are caused by stress or by abnormalities in the neck, muscles, or bones. They can also be caused by conversion disorders, which are psychological problems that cause symptoms similar to those accompanying an actual physical condition.
Cranial neuralgias involve severe pains in or about the face or scalp, and are caused by abnormalities of the trigeminal or glossopharyngeal nerves.

Causes and Risks of Alzheimer
The cause of Alzheimer's disease is unknown. Factors that may increase the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease are:
1. Genetics - Scientists have found links between the disease and certain chromosomes
2. Age - Most people with Alzheimer's disease are older than age 65
3. Estrogen - There is some possible link between the hormone estrogen and Alzheimer's disease in women.
4. Head injuries -Furthermore, the risk of Alzheimer's disease increased with the severity of the head injury in early life.
5. Environmental toxins - There has been conflicting research about the accumulation of heavy metals in the brains of individuals with Alzheimer's disease.

ONwebHealth about Alzheimer
Alzheimer's disease is a common, progressive, degenerative disease of the brain. It is characterized by loss of memory and other cognitive functions. Among people aged 65 or older, it is the most common cause of dementia. Dementia is a group of symptoms marked by the gradual loss of mental function.
People who have Alzheimer's disease have smaller brains than the normal population. They also have lower amounts of a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine. This chemical is essential for memory and thinking.
